On the Output Efficiency of Technological Innovation in Anhui

An empirical analysis is made of the technological innovation efficiency of the 16 cities in Anhui by use of the BCC model of DEA. The findings show that the technological innovation efficiency is not high in Anhui and there is much room for improvement; some cities have larger potential for technological innovation for a handsome sum of accumulation in innovation investment; there lies a regional imbalance in terms of the technology innovation efficiency. Except for a few cities doing a best job in the efficiency of technological innovation, many cities give a poor performance in this regard. Suggestions are thus made: investment for technological innovation be stepped up to create a favorable environment for innovation and the enthusiasm for innovation of the scientific staff be mobilized so as to enhance the efficiency of innovation.
