    A Study ofAdverbs for Degree in the Novel Under the Red Flag

    • The work Under Red Flag is an important linguistic data for the study of modern Chinese. The 47 adverbs for degrees selected from this work can be classified into three types according to their semantic degrees: intensity, comparison and feebleness. Through the historical examination of these words, the author has found that most adverbs for degrees in modern Chinese are inherited from the ancient Chinese. Meanwhile, the modern Chinese also has its new ones.
