Abstract
By use of the methods of continuous dilution separation and plate streaking separation, fifteen strains, capable of Cellulose degradation, were isolated from compost soil, using the carboxymethyl cellulose sodium (CMC-Na) as the screening culture medium, of which the ZN-206 strain manifests the most powerful cellulose degradation activity in Cellulose degradation. Based on the study of its morphologic, cultural, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and components of its cell wall as well as 16S rDNA sequence, the strain ZN-206 was identified as a Streptomyces graminearus.
