Abstract
The filial concept in Book of Rites had been inherited in Western Han Dynasty, which played a role in standardizing and constraining people’s behaviors. Such inheritance is mainly shown in filial piety and respect to parents which means that one should support his parents materially and please them spiritually, restraint of oneself and respect of elders which include the love and protect his own body and its organs and the respect to elders, inheritance of ambitions and revenge for parents which are to inherit one’s parents unfulfilled will and revenge for their parent’s death, and cautious thinking of life and study of the ancient saints which is to attach importance to funerals and sacrifice.
