Abstract
12906 non sport 2013 school leavers from 5 teachers colleges and universities in Sichuan are subjected to physical test. The findings show that the health status of senior college students is a merely borderline case or just something a little over the rather satisfactory level; the acceptance rate takes a “first rise and then fall” trend with a rather high percentage of failure and the girls’ health better than that of the boys; a rather high percentage of senior girls are found to have a slightly lighter or an overly slight body weight while a higher percentage of senior boys are found to be slightly fat or overly fat;the step exponent of both the girls and boys stay at the minimal borderline level of acceptance or satisfaction; the rate of excellence of high graders is obviously lower than that of the low graders and boys are found to have a poorer performance than girls in this regard; an obvious drop is observed in terms of grip strength and grip strength/body mass index in senior students against the sophomores; scores of four times of standing long jump are at a merely pass level with a “first rise and then drop” excellence rate;the scores in terms of forward crook from a sitting position are quite satisfactory, the excellence rate of juniors are strikingly lower compared with the freshmen, indicating that the health status of this year’s school leavers are far from satisfactory and calls for greater attention from the school authorities.
