Synthesis of Several N-(5Phenanthroline) Diacid Monoamides

5-amino-1, 10-phenanthroline was synthesized from phenanthroline through nitrification and reduction reaction. Then several compounds, such as N-(5-phenanthroline) succinic acid amide, N-(5-phenanthroline) glutaric acid amide and N-(5-phenanthroline) adipic acid amide, were synthesized from 5-amino-1, 10-phenanthroline and several dibasic acid anhydrides by means of acylation reactions. The structures of the three products were corroborated by infrared spectroscopy.
