    On Secret Societies and Democratic Revolution in Sichuan in Qing Dynasty

    • The success of democratic revolution in Sichuan was due to the hard struggle of revolutionaries and the intellectuals’ propaganda as well as the effort of some secret societies in late Qing Dynasty. The connection including secret societies’ with revolutionaries afforded the revolution with organization and mass foundation. And the members of these societies as the main force of the revolution gave the great support to it. Further, they afforded financial help and this greatly mitigated revolutionaries’ fund shortage. During this period, these secret societies interacted with revolutionaries and they were active in democratic revolution in Sichuan, which had exerted great influence on it.
