    A Probe in to the Independent Status of Marquisate in Early Han Dynasty

    • In early Han Dynasty, marquis had the rights to appoint their officials and levy taxes. And they had their independence to some extent. The marquis were under the supervision of counties. After the rebellion of seven kingdoms and reform of bureaucracy, their rights to appoint officials and levy taxes were deprived and their independent status lost.
