A Probe into the Structural Symmetry of Oracle Bone Inscriptions

This paper has counted up the oracle bone inscriptions with structural symmetry with exhaustiveness on the basis of A Re-study of Oracle Bone Inscriptions of Shang Dynasty. The result shows that in oracle bone inscriptions there are a large amount of characters with obvious structural symmetry. When creating these characters, our ancestors followed a kind of aesthetic psychology and thinking mode of symmetry which originated from themselves and their surroundings.
