On the Research Value and Weaknesses of Literary Study (1954 — 1957)

Literary Study was an important literary periodical in the 1950s in China which once had exerted extensive influence on literary youths. The attention of literary circle to it includes the overall evaluation of its status and influence, evaluation of its editors and their thoughts, and citation of its articles and authors. Though it had abundant research fruits, there still existed some weaknesses of its study. And the study of Literary Study from the discourse perspective has become a new topic for periodicals of contemporary Chinese literature.
