    • Epigraphs for a Crane were the famous tomb inscriptions of South Dynasty. And influenced by his teacher ZENG Xi and LI Rui-qing as well as the high agreement between his personality and calligraphic connotation in Epigraphs for a Crane, ZHANG Da-qian loved the epigraphs all his life. It was on the basis of the epigraphs and from the influence of Inscriptions on the Stone Gate that ZHANG had formed his unique style of calligraphic art—Dapqian Style.
