    • A survey is made among the middle school students so as to know about their grade and gender traits regarding learning burnout and thus to explore its developing trend. 353 middle school students were surveyed using Personal Basic Information Questionnaire, Scale of Learning Burnout of Middle School Students. The findings show that the learning burnout of middle school students is of a medium level; the scores concerning the reduced learning efficacy and physical exhaustion factor are found to be a little bit too high. The gender difference of the teacher-student alienative relationship is rather significant, with boys being more alienative to their teacher than girls. The learning burnout level takes a basically linear upward trend from the seventh graders up to the twelfth graders, with Senior Two students being the highest. The grade difference in learning burnout is quite significant; there exist significant differences between students of Junior One, Junior Two and their senior high school peers. Grade and gender interaction was significant. Middle school students’ learning burnout is at the medium level. Middle school students’ learning burnout level takes linear upward trend. Learning burnout grade difference is significant; grade and gender interaction were both significant.
