On Karl Jasper’s View toward the University Culture and Its Inspiration for the Establishment of Institutional Universities

    • The institutional culture is an important part of the university one and it has been playing a key role in the development of universities. Universities need the institutional construction. However, the university institution limits the university conception, which is a practical pity. Institutional culture has some regrets and inherent defects itself in faculty recruitment and academic freedom, resulting in the failure to recruit excellent scholars and the misuses of academic freedom. Accordingly, we should avoid such limitations in the scientific design of university institution and stick to the lofty academic standards in order to recruit the excellent scholars and guarantee the freedom of teacher’s educational and research activities and student’s study, which heavily depend on the establish and perfection of the university institution.
