    On the Aesthetic Connotation of ZHANG Da-qian’s Painting with Poems

    • The master of Chinese painting ZHANG Da-qian has been one of prominent poets who composed most poems on his paintings. From the topics and aesthetic connotation, his poems mainly include two groups. The first one focused on the artistic conception closely related with the painting and they vividly expressed the painting and its implication. The second group was to express his feelings and thinking of painting arts and they artistically showed idea of studying the ancient people, the nature and people’s spirit. ZHANGs’ poems on paintings are quite inspiring to the creation of both painting and poems.
