On the Evolution and Motivation of Body Quantifiers

Through the examining the examples of body quantifiers in the literature of far ancient, mid-ancient, near ancient and modern times, this paper has made an analysis of their evolution and come to a conclusion that the motivation of their evolution is related not only to the tendency of the bi-syllabification of Chinese words, but to the sticking to the principles of exactness and economy.
