An Analysis of the English Translation of Chinese Martial Arts Fictions and Their Academic Studies

    • The Chinese martial arts fictions are characterized with small amount of English version in paperback and few writers concerned, and large number of English translation on net and hence more writers involved. As a whole, the translation of such novels is poor in quality. Furthermore, the record of such translation in mainland China is almost blank. The study of such fictions is small in amount, to say nothing of that in mainland China. The solutions to the problems in translating such novels have yet to be found. And the differences in politics, economics and culture between mainland China and Hongkong and Taiwan lead to the differences in translation and study of such kind of works.
