    On Thoughts of Introspecting and Self-cultivation and State-running in Book of Changes and Their Metaphysical Bases

    • Book of Changes shows the Confucian ideal of inner cultivation and outer achievements. And it stresses the introspecting and the thought of state-running ambition. Its thinking style inherited the thought of attempting to understanding nature held by Zisi and Mencius School. Zisi’s thought, in particular, mainly expatiates that of “understanding nature in order to highlight the humanity”. And the abstract metaphysic basis of nature is on the image and the concrete things within shape.
