On the Pragmatic Means Expressing “Future” in Modern Chinese

This paper discusses about the tense system in modern Chinese which is mainly concerned with context, pragmatic subjects, and linguistic styles. From the perspective of context, both linguistic context and situational context exert great influence on the use of future tense. While the pragmatic subjects always have the implication of prediction, demand and promise in description.
