Abstract
The anti-Confucius and anti-Confucian actions by Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were characterized with complexity of content and forms. Namely, in its early period, it did not resist Confucianism. However, after the choice of Nanjing as its capital, it began to burn the classic Confucian works. And soon, they took the anti-Confucian actions as deletion or modification of such works. Meanwhile, on the one hand, the kingdom resisted the Confucianism; on the other hand, it took some basic conceptions as its beliefs. The reason for such phenomenon lies in that the army took the protection of the authority of Church of God as their task instead of resistance of feudalism and Confucianism. In this sense, such anti-Confucius and anti-Confucian actions were not advanced both politically and ideologically.
