Distinction and Name Ratification: A Perspective of the Prefaces to Ghost Novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties

In the evolution of culture and education of Ming and Qing Dynasties, the writer of prefaces to the ghost novels unanimously distinguished and ratified such kind of novels in three main ways: attachment to history and classic works and interpretation of Confucian doctrine. They had been searching the expression of rationalization of ghost novels in different periods. Meanwhile, they stressed the main features and existential ways of such novels: the benefit to traditions and caution to the world
