The Construction of the Comprehensive Ideological and Political Courses: The Status Quo Examination and Paths to Improvement

    • Promoting the construction of the comprehensive ideological and political courses is a crucial reform initiative for high-quality development, proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping in 2021. Remarkable achievements have been made in macro-policy formulation, the innovation of such courses, the establishment of the big classroom of society, faculty development, and the creation of comprehensive resource platforms. However, challenges are still going on, including varying levels of institutional emphasis, ambiguous understanding, and inadequate implementation of top-level designs of comprehensive ideological and political courses. To further advance the integrated construction of thses courses, we should stick to the Party’s leadership. We must adhere to their fundamental course attributes while upholding integrity and innovating the in-class education. Furthermore, efforts should focus on integrating social resources to effectively utilize the the big classroom of society and leveraging modern information technology to build a comprehensive platform for teaching resources. Additionally, faculty teams should be strengthened to cultivate a comprehensive teaching force. Finally, robust safeguard measures must be reinforced to establish a comprehensive mechanism for sustainable development.
