    A Study of Topic Selection for Empirical Undergraduate Thesis of English Education with School of Foreign Languages, Neijiang Normal University as an Example

    • The forcus on the undergraduate thesis of normal university students can help to reveal the development tendency and characteristics of their topic selection. The analysis on 710 topics of empirical graduation papers from 2020 to 2024 reveals that there exist some problems like inadequate creativity, narrow research perspectives, limited research field, lack of scientific qualitative methods and emphasis on reading and writing. To cope with such problems, we can pay more attention to the following points: diversity and creativity of topics, balance of research topics, application of qualitative methods, age group and language skills of the research objects, and diversity and depth of the research methods.
