Abstract
The state-level new areas are strategic platform for undertaking major national development tasks and have a prominent position in the construction of regional innovation system. In order to clarify the impact of the state-level new areas on promoting regional innovation efficiency, this paper uses data envelopment analysis ( DEA ) to measure regional innovation efficiency based on the data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020, and constructs a hierarchical regression model for empirical analysis. It is found that from a national perspective, the state-level new areas have a significant positive impact on regional knowledge innovation efficiency and a significant negative impact on regional product innovation efficiency. The above effects have certain regional and time heterogeneity. In addition, innovative talents and marketization level play a mechanism role in the positive impact of the state-level new areas on regional knowledge innovation efficiency, and marketization level plays a mechanism role in the positive impact of the state-level new areas on regional product innovation efficiency. Based on the above research conclusions, this paper proposes targeted countermeasures.
