    • As the cradle of professional education, local undergraduate universities play an irreplaceable role in promoting regional economic and social development. With the further reform of higher education in China, an output-oriented educational model sets higher standards for the professional learning effect of university students. The structural equation modeling is adopted to explore multiple dimensions of English major students in local undergraduate universities. The multiple dimensions embrace academic cognition, emotion, behavior, and identity as well as learning effect. The goal of this study is to reveal the key factors influencing students’ learning effect and the underlying mechanisms of these factors. This not only guides students’ academic learning but also serves as a reference for educational, teaching, and management practices in universities.
