Abstract
The current initiative by the Chinese government actively promotes the "going global" of traditional Chinese culture. However, when it comes to the textbooks and teaching of college English, there is notable absence of classical Chinese literature where traditional Chinese culture is usually found, and the translation of classical Chinese literature. It is highly necessary to integrate Chinese classics into translation teaching of college English. This article attempts to propose strategic suggestions for addressing this issue. It advocates for the integration of language teaching with culture, language input with language output, translation theory and techniques with translation practices. At the same time, the crucial role of teachers is emphasized as well. The systematic construction of the translation teaching for classical Chinese literature contributes to the cultivation of bilingual translation professionals who can disseminate and promote culture in Chinese classics, possess cultural literacy, and have an international perspective.
