The 25th day of Mengdong refers to 25th, October of lunar calendar, instead of the 24th day after Winter Beginning Day.What Zhang Yiquan’s poem recorded was the fact that the emperor offered incense to Buddha in Chanfu Temple, but not his visit to Yingtai.Accordingly, the view that his poem was composed in the second year of Xianfeng Emperor was untenable.In the poem, the character“tong”in the word cluster“fanyantong” (Buddhist rite) does not mean“go simultaneously”, but“same”.On this basis, the view that the poem recorded the fact that the emperor offered the incense to Buddha in Chanfu Temple and Yongan Temple at the same time is unbelievable.Therefore, the viewpoint that Zhang did not write his poem earlier than the second year of Jiaqing Emperor is unconvincing.
