Abstract: FAN Changjiang (1909-1970) was a primary pioneer and founder of proletarian journalism education in China. His thoughts on journalism education were formulated and continuously developed and deepened through his rich journalistic activities and educational practices. This study examines the formation of FAN's thoughts on journalism education through a tripartite analytical framework:historical contextualization, theoretical underpinnings, and practical implementation. The core tenets of his thoughts on journalism education are centered on two objectives:nurturing journalists who commit to public service, and wholeheartedly serving the people. The importance of balancing theoretical study with practical training is stressed in his philosophy for education strategies. His educational thoughts not only provided guidance for journalism education at that time but also offer valuable insights for the development of contemporary journalism education.
