Abstract:
Owing to its unique regional style, ethnic characteristics and cultural connotation, the wushu of Kongtong, has become one of the ethnic activities with distinct characteristics of western China. By use of literature review, field surveys, methods of network retrieval etc., plus analytic demonstration of regional geography, cultural anthropology, archeology and large-area morphology, it is concluded that Kongtong wushu is one of a large regionality. Ancient people living in the Longshan area of the Jingwei basin created and developed the wushu of Kongtong in their daily productive labor, tribal wars, religious sacrificial activities, entertainments, self-defense, philosophy of regimen and ethnic integration and embodied a rich cultural connotation that is widely spread in the vast region of the whole basin. Through study of the Kongtong wushu in the pre-Qin period, to set up a regional ethnic culture and develop the Kongtong cultural resources can help form a cultural region with the characteristics of Chinese civilization centered on the Long Mountain east, the Jingwei basin.
