Abstract:
A comparative study ofStudent Physical Health Standards (on trial) 〖WTBZ〗(hereinafter referred to as the old standard) and National Student Fitness Standard (hereinafter referred to as the new standard) is conducted among the 3604 college students in terms of the practicability and scientificalness concerning the test items, the weight coefficients, scoring criteria and evaluation of grade etc., in the new standard. Studies have shown that the new standard is still blamed for its unclear classification and poor relevance between the test items. The new standard has adjusted the weight coefficients and the criteria for grading and puts forward a higher demand on college students so as to mobilize students’ enthusiasm for sports and thus to enhance their physical constitution. The only fly in the ointment is that the new standard sets too high a criteria for the spiro-index and standing long jump, which is too tough a standard for students to reach and is thus in need of adjustment.
