Abstract:
Starting off from the connotation of an effective geography classroom, an exploration is made into the construction of an effective geography classroom in the context of a new curriculum, which finds that the in-depth understanding and correct mastery of the new curricular standards is the premise; a clear knowledge of the disciplinary characteristics and a proper disciplinary orientation is the cornerstone; appropriate teaching methods are the key factor; the cultivation of students’ disciplinary thinking and learner autonomy is the ultimate goal; and the creation of a harmonious and ecological geography class is the effective approach. To enhance the teaching effect of middle school geography class, the avoidance of several problems is also in need of our attention, for instance, short-term effect in mind only, a laisser-faire policy in the research of problems(learner autonomy does not mean study on one’s own)
