    The Better Than Average Effect and Bias-Blind-Spot Effect Among College Students and In Service Employees under Social Comparison

    • 摘要: 以大学生和在职员工为被试,对优于常人效应和偏差盲点效应进行检验.结果发现:大学生和在职员工均表现出显著的优于常人效应和偏差盲点效应;同时发现,大学生被试在社会比较中的偏差效应明显大于员工被试;此外,人格特质自信对优于常人效应有影响,人格特质对偏差盲点效应没有显著影响.

       

      Abstract: Previous research shows that there exists a common system deviation in social comparison. University students and in-service employees taken as the research subjects, a test is made to check their better than average effect and bias-blind-spot effect. The results are as follows: university students and in-service employees are found to have an obviously better performance in terms of the two effects in social comparison; Also, the students’ bias is significantly more obvious than that of the in-service employees; In addition, the personality traits such as confidence have certain influence upon their better-than-average effect, while personality traits exert no significant influence upon the bias blind spot effect.
