Abstract: On the basis of elaborating the peril of high-rise building fire, a status quo of high-rise building fire control and security is put under examination. The findings reveal the problems and causes being the following: the insufficient security consciousness of fire control; improperly maintained anti-fire equipment; poor estate management; the operation of a construction prior to due anti-fire inspection. Suggestions are made as follows: the set-up of a government-dominated comprehensive management system for high-rise building fire control; the reinforcement of anti-fire awareness; stricter legal supervision to step up fire-control capacity; sufficient system guarantee; active exploration of new means of permanent mechanism for fire control in high-rise buildings.
