Abstract: The potential category in Neijiang dialect is expressed through the collocation between “de / bu” and other constructions. These constructions approach to morphological means and can be analogized. They are not the real morphological forms, but they can be treated as paradigms expressing potential category. Further, they are important means of expressing meanings as ability, possibility and permission in Neijiang Dialect.
