Abstract: According to relevant historical documents, this paper has made a research into the FAN Xi-chao’s frontier activities in late Tang Dynasty. He served as an official in some towns of frontier as Binning, Zhenwu, Lingyan, and Hedong. His main achievements mainly included the mollification of nomadic tribes and success in tackling the internal conflicts which lessened to some degree the external threat to Tang Dynasty. He had stationed in frontier for tens of years and been respected highly. And he had been commended and awarded many times by the imperial court and admired deeply by people.
