Abstract: As an important figure in the modern history of China as well as in the history of the Chinese Communist Party, CHEN Du-xiu has always been the focus of research in the academic circle. Studies of him have been conducted in such areas like political, historical, cultural thoughts and art. In particular, his democratic thought, attitude toward traditional culture and position in the anti-Japanese War are still people’s focus. Further, the studies of his character and mental highlight the new fruits of the academic cicle.
