Abstract: Longchang, Sichuan, is known as the hometown of Chinese stone memorial arch. There are seventeen stone gateways of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ancient official roads, big migrated families, local officials, blue stones in Longchang, relation between civil houses and gateways all contributed to the formation of the group of grand stone memorial gateways.
