Abstract:
The rapid development and proliferation of digital media have significantly transformed the social environment of young people. This transformation has given rise to a paradoxical phenomenon: collective loneliness. This phenomenon stems from excessive immersion in virtual interaction, patterns of introspective communication, and a blind pursuit of virtual personas. Its underlying mechanisms are linked to cognitive biases, polarized thinking, social anxiety, identity crises, and social fragmentation exacerbated by the digital divide. Together, these factors intensify the sense of isolation. Therefore, it is crucial to foster empathetic connections that enable genuine communication. Concurrently, we must guide the young people in constructively managing loneliness and help them recognize the value of solitude.
