Abstract:
The spatiotemporal theory functions as a latent core thesis within metaphysics proposed by Seven Worthies of Bamboo Grove. It exhibits a distinct heterodoxy in the poetry and prose by RUAN Ji, who was a key member of the seven worthies. RUAN’s textual construction establishes a paradigm of dislocated chronotopes, wherein individual and historical spatio-temporalities run in parallel yet non-intersecting dimensions. This dynamic interplay is propelled by the infinite entropy increase of subjective consciousness. Such a process not only gives rise to heterogeneous spatio-temporalities in literary art but ultimately constitutes RUAN’s multifaceted soul. This poetic logic finds interdisciplinary resonance with Roger PENROSE’s Stairs, a model of geometrically self-referential and cyclical spacetime. Applying this theoretical lens to categorize RUAN’s work could pave new interpretive avenues for his scholarship.
