Abstract:
Driven by the digital-intelligent transformation, language services for exhibitions (LSE), an essential support for international communication and presentation, are undergoing profound changes. Adopting a perspective of language service ecosystem, this paper explores the evolving conceptualization and key components of LSE. It examines the dual impact of digital-intelligent technologies on supply and demand sides, and their practical significance for constructing a modern service framework. On the supply side, technological innovation has significantly boosted the capacity of language services to handle complex scenarios. This advancement is accelerating their shift toward intelligent and platform-based operations. Moreover, the application of digital technologies has contributed to cost reduction and efficiency improvement, triggering initial restructuring of the industry’s workforce. On the demand side, participants now expect more specialized, interactive, and multifaceted language services. Digital tools have significantly boosted the accuracy and expanded the coverage of multilingual support. These advancements simultaneously enhance the user experience by leveraging technologies such as augmented reality, multilingual subtitles, and systems for intelligent customer service. Building on these findings, this paper proposes a path for constructing a holistic language service framework under the digital-intelligent paradigm. Firstly, language service approaches must be upgraded by prioritizing the cultivation of interdisciplinary professionals to meet diversified service needs. Secondly, industrial optimization should promote deep integration between language services and digital technologies, supporting the smart and sustainable development of the exhibition industry.
