Abstract:
The rich connotation and practical requirements of the professional ethos of educators (PEE) was firstly proposed and profoundly explained in the letter by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to China’s outstanding teachers’ representatives. Deeply exploring the internal logic of the generation of PEE is a fundamental requirement for completely, accurately, and comprehensively implementing it. The logic of PEE can be presented from the following three aspects. Traditional Chinese culture of teacher-student ethics is the theoretical logic of the generation of PEE, which has achieved the inheritance of traditional teacher ethics represented by Confucius currently. Marxist educational theory is the historical logic of the generation of PEE, which reflects the inheritance and development of Marxist educational thought. The grand educational practice under the leadership of the CPC is the practical logic of the generation of PEE, which demonstrates the expansion and sublimation of the educational practice. The organic unity of the three logical dimensions of theory, history, and practice constructs the unique Chinese PEE which becomes the fundamental guidance and action guide for teacher team construction in the new era and during new journey.
