Abstract:
The realization of modernization characterized by harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature necessitates the education of ecological civilization (EEC). EEC plays a foundational and pioneering role in the construction of such modernization, and it also serves as a crucial means and source of strength for promoting this harmonious relationship. The mechanisms through which EEC facilitates the harmonious coexistence manifest in following six ways. Firstly, perspectives are transformed to guide individuals in establishing an ecological value system that promotes harmony with nature. Secondly, eco-citizens who provide the human resources necessary for modernization are cultivated. Thirdly, the economy to develop modes of growth are updated to be compatible with harmonious coexistence. Fifthly, technologies that align with ecological modernization are innovated. Sixthly, a cultural atmosphere that enhances public consciousness in building a society characterized by harmony with nature is created. To construct an EEC paradigm that aligns with the goals of harmonious coexistence, it is essential to develop a collaborative education system involving families, schools, and communities. A government-led education framework with participation from all sectors of society is to be established as well. As a result, innovations in educational policies, laws, and mechanisms can be promoted. These strategies are vital steps towards advancing EEC in the context of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
