Abstract: The dissemination of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy is undergoing profound changes, owing to the rapid development of new medium technologies. ZHANG Daqian, a prominent representative of modern Chinese painters, is recognized for his flower-and-bird paintings. ZHANG displays such a unique artistic style and deep cultural significance in the paintings that they have been important subjects for art research and dissemination. However, his flower-and-bird paintings currently face challenges regarding media, interactive functions, immersive experiences, and distinctive presentations in terms of new forms and languages. Hence, a comprehensive matrix is constructed for the new medium dissemination and exhibition of the paintings. The construction is realized by building an integrated medium platform for the paintings, the development of interactive exhibitions, the creation of online and offline educational resources, and the establishment of international exchange platforms. This initiative aims to invigorate the vitality and creativity of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy so that new media could be empowered to the innovative transformation and development of ZHANG Daqian’s artistic legacy.
