Abstract: Based on the comprehensive quality and efficiency and five development concepts, the index evaluation system is constructed, and the entropy weight method is used to measure the high-quality economic development level of Wanjiang city belt. The results show that: on the whole, the economic development quality of Wanjiang city belt has undergone a fluctuating rise from 2012 to 2020. In terms of each separate dimension, the level of innovation, coordination, greenery and shared development of Wanjiang city belt has been improving, except that the level of open development has declined. In terms of the many cities in Wanjiang city belt, the high-quality economic development index of Hefei and Wuhu has exceeded 0.6 and 0.4 respectively, ranking in the first and second echelon of Wanjiang city belt. The other seven cities, including Tongling, have high quality economic development index between 0 and 0.4, making them the third echelon cities of the Wanjiang city belt. In terms of separate dimensions, the many cities in this belt have either their own distinct advantages or disadvantages.
