Abstract:
Alfred North Whitehead (1861-1947), a British educational theorist, proposed the rhythm theory of education and divided education into three stages. The stage of romance mainly refers to the primary school education, and is important to guide the development of pupils. Whitehead states that it is necessary at this stage to arouse students’ interest in learning, create an atmosphere of free exploration, attach importance to the cultivation of imagination, and emphasize the importance of life experience. The implication of exploring the stage of romance is beneficial to the all-around development of primary school students.
