Abstract: The folk martial arts associations are shouldering a historic mission in inheriting the traditional Chinese martial arts.By use of the methods of documentary and experts interview, the martial arts communities responsible for the heritage of the White Ape punching in Beijing were subjected to an in-depth and comprehensive comparative analysis in an attempt to know about their birth, operation, inheritance capacity, inheritance content and inheritance mode.The existing problems and corresponding countermeasures concerning the inheritance and development of folk martial arts communities are discussed and suggested.It is found that there exist subjective and objective problems affecting the inheritance and development of martial arts communities like the lax management, weak fund-raising capacity, the lack of talents and so on.In response to the above-mentioned problems, corresponding measures are put forth:to step up social cooperation, and broaden funding channels;to amplify social organizations;to strengthen communication with relevant institutions;to establish an open, inspiring mechanism and evaluation mechanisms.
