Abstract: Expansive teaching is of great significance inarousing students’ interest, expandingtheir knowledge and improvingtheir problem-solving ability. Based on a case study of spectral dispersion of mercury, this paper introduced how expan- sive teaching can be implemented in physics experiment through expansion of knowledge, thinking and living.
