Abstract:
To study the relationship between rumination, perfectionism and regret orientation, the Rumination Response Scale(RRS), Perfectionism Questionnaire for College Students and the Regret Orientation Scale were applied to1076 college students. It is found that(1) significant gender differences are found between girls and boys in terms of the perfectionism and regret orientation for college students(P<0. 05), with the upperclassmen having a heavier trend for perfectionism and the average college undergraduates being more capable of regretting than those in vocational colleges; (2) The regret orientation has significant correlation with rumination(r=0. 585, P<0. 01) and Perfectionism(r=0. 410,P<0. 01) , Rumination and Per- fectionism can significantly predict the regret orientation, indicating that Rumination and Perfectionism play an important role on effecting Regret Orientation in college students.
