Abstract:
The modern writer LIN Yu-tang made expatiation to his aesthetic calligraphic thought from perspectives of artistic conception, spirit, prosody and nature, which showed his keen insight and close mastery of Chinese calligraphic aesthetic essence. His thought showed the synchronic development rule of Chinese calligraphy. As the founder of modern Chinese calligraphic aesthetics, LIN's calligraphic view was characterized by the positive significance of introducing the Chinese calligraphic culture to the West. It is helpful to the multi-level study of Chinese calligraphy to treat his view concerning calligraphy dialectically.
