    On Synchronic Principle of Chinese Calligraphic Aesthetics: An Analysis of LIN Yu-tang's Aesthetic Thoughts concerning Chinese Calligraphy

    • 摘要: 近代作家林语堂书法美学思想从“气韵”、“性灵”、“韵律”、“自然”等角度论及中国书法特征,显示其敏锐的观察力和以及对中国书法美学的精深把握。林语堂书法美学思想展示出中国书法共时性发展规律。作为近代中国书法美学的初步奠基者,林语堂书法观具备向西方介绍中国书法文化的积极意义。辩证对待林语堂书法观,有助于当代中国书法研究多向层面的展开。

       

      Abstract: The modern writer LIN Yu-tang made expatiation to his aesthetic calligraphic thought from perspectives of artistic conception, spirit, prosody and nature, which showed his keen insight and close mastery of Chinese calligraphic aesthetic essence. His thought showed the synchronic development rule of Chinese calligraphy. As the founder of modern Chinese calligraphic aesthetics, LIN's calligraphic view was characterized by the positive significance of introducing the Chinese calligraphic culture to the West. It is helpful to the multi-level study of Chinese calligraphy to treat his view concerning calligraphy dialectically.
