Abstract:
A random survey was made of the sleep quality among college students of Yunnan University of Nationalities by use of the scale of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)to research about their sleep quality. The results showed that: College students' total score of PSQI was 5.69±2.90, and the Han students scored 5.42±2.676, while the minority nationality students scored 6.05±3.149; The incidence of sleep quality problem was 24.5% on the whole, with a 18.9% incidence in the Hans and a 31.8% among the minority nationalities. The gender difference of total score of PSQI was not statistically significant(P> 0.05); The difference of total score of PSQI was statistically significant(P< 0.05)between different majors. Science students' sleep quality were worse in contrast with that of the sports college students, indicating that the overall sleep quality of college student was far from satisfactory, and is in dire need of improvement, among which the sleep quality of minority students is especially urgent. Counter measures were put forth as follows: to raise the awareness of sleep hygiene, to participate more in exercise, to optimize dormitory environment.
