Abstract:
As one of Confucius’ pupils, ZAI Yu showed his special rebellious thinking and skepticism through five conversations as “ZAI Yu asked questions about five emperors’ virtues”, “ZAI Yu asked questions about kindness”, “ZAI Yu answered Aigong’s questions”, “ZAI Yu asked about three years for observing for mourning for one’s parent” and “ZAI Yu slept at day” in Analects of Confucius. ZAI Yu was not the person whom Confucius called “rotten wood on which nothing can be carved and the wall made of excrement and dirt which cannot be decorated”. Instead, ZAI was an person who was full of wisdoms.
